Dear Reader,
Thank you for opening these pages and stepping into the world of Null. Every story begins with a question, and this one began with mine: Who decides what is real? Who grants permission to belong, to speak, to become?
Null is a story about systems—both visible and invisible—and the ways they shape our identities, our choices, and our understanding of ourselves. It is about those moments when something inside us whispers that the world is larger, stranger, and more complicated than we have been led to believe.
At its heart, this novel is also about courage. The courage to question what is accepted as truth. The courage to imagine something different. And the courage to remain fully human in systems that often ask us to be less.
I hope you find adventure within these pages, but I also hope you find moments that linger after the final chapter—questions that follow you, characters who stay with you, and perhaps reflections of your own journey toward understanding, belonging, and becoming.
Thank you for taking this journey with me. Stories only truly come alive when they are shared, and I am deeply grateful that Null has found its way into your hands.
With gratitude,
Alairis R. Hamilton
