Hi, everyone! If you’re reading this, you probably know me as the author of Quiet Fire. But before I was an author, I was a 12-year-old girl with an idea I really wanted to turn into a book. I started writing Quiet Fire in April 2025, when I was twelve. Six months later, in September, I published it at thirteen. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure that would happen. I’ve always loved writing. When I was around seven, I would write 40+ pages about family vacations. Eventually, I thought, Wait… I could actually write a whole book. So I did. For six months, I had the freedom to create anything I wanted—characters, secrets, clues, plot twists, entire worlds. That freedom was my favorite part of writing Quiet Fire. Cedric, Khalani, and Evric are my favorite characters because they have personalities similar to mine. But I relate to Khalani the most. Of course, it wasn’t always easy. The ending was by far the hardest part. I had to make the entire story feel connected, and I stressed over it SO much. Then I discovered self-publishing, and suddenly that dream didn’t feel so impossible. Looking back, that ending is now my favorite part. Sometimes what you fear most becomes what you’re proudest of. I hope you become attached to these characters and this story. I want you to reach the end and think, Wait… I need to read that again. And PLEASE do. There are so many tiny details hidden throughout Quiet Fire. Things you might overlook the first time could mean something later. If you reread it, look closely—you might notice something new. I love hearing that someone is reading my book. And when someone tells me I’m an inspiration? OMG. I LOVE IT. 🥹 If I could tell my twelve-year-old self one thing, it would be: It absolutely is going to be published. Stop rushing. So to everyone reading this: thank you for picking up my book, giving my characters a chance, and supporting my dream. I hope Quiet Fire stays with you long after the last page.
