Author Spotlight - Tyler Tarter
Tyler Tarter is an Amazon best-selling author who grew up throughout the western United States. After a few years of living in Brazil and on the East Coast, he pursued his two loves. He currently spends his days working in the IT and Cyber Security field and his nights at a laptop writing. With five novels and several short stories published, with his next book coming out on 9/16/25, he’s hard at work bringing the stories in his mind to life.
Sci-Fi and Fantasy author Tyler Tarter almost gave up on writing after his publisher folded during Covid. But rather than ditch his dreams, he rolled up his sleeves and took on the challenge of self-publishing. Since that time, he’s released five books across three separate series and is working on additional titles coming soon. His most recent launch – Stuck Over Heaven – details the story of a grizzled veteran out to avenge the murder of his wife at the hands of a ruthless crime guild.
Tyler began writing at an early age and gained traction by participating in his school’s robust creative writing program. He credits this program as the foundation for his work today and notes that most of his classmates have also gone on to publish books. He continues to experiment with characters, plots, and landscapes during his commute to and from his job in cybersecurity.
The number one piece of advice Tyler would give his fellow writers? Write short stories! Being able to start and finish a piece of writing in a condensed format makes the process more digestible and allows the writer to try out different concepts. Tyler also advocates for experimenting with multiple genres and joining a writing group to share feedback with others.
