About Christmas at my Place

University Professor Melody Kingston doesn’t want to spend Christmas with her family. She’s dealt with their constant ridicule and homophobia for years, and as a trans woman, she’s done with their bullshit. If they aren’t going to respect her, then she isn’t going to waste her energy on their family events. While listening to her best friend, Darcy Dawson, complain about their family hounding them on when they’ll get a partner, an idea begins to take form. Melody proposes that, just for the holidays, she could pretend to be Darcy’s girlfriend to get their family off their back. Melody tells herself that it is just to help, but she can’t deny that part of her loves the idea of being Darcy’s girlfriend. She’ll get to spend the holidays with her long term crush, and an actually loving family, in the prettiest winter cabin Melody can imagine. Being Darcy’s fake girlfriend is just a dream, and everything is perfect until they get to the cabin where she meets Ward Schutz. Darcy’s cousin’s best friend, who is fighting for her attention alongside Darcy. Melody isn’t sure what to do. She’s here to fake date Darcy, and her feelings for them are full force, if not more than before, but this new “Ward” character is quickly carving a place in her heart that she didn’t know was there before.
