What to expect during Stripe Connect setup

To receive tips and Quilltips Shop payments through Quilltips, you'll need to connect a Stripe account. Authors can configure Stripe by going to Settings → Payments. Here's what you can expect during the setup process:

• You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure platform
• You'll need to provide basic information about yourself (other info will be autofilled)
• You'll need to connect a bank account to receive payments
• The entire process typically takes 5-10 minutes

Required Information

Please have the following information ready:

• Legal name
• Address and phone number
• Banking details for receiving payments
• Tax identification number (SSN)

Payouts & Ongoing

After Stripe onboarding is complete, authors will be able to view, edit, and configure their payment info by going to Settings → Manage Payment Settings in Quilltips, or using the Express dashboard link provided by Stripe.

Payouts for tips and Shop sales typically occur on a rolling basis — please allow several business days for Stripe to process transactions.

Authors will be able to see details on payouts including Quilltips' and Stripe's fees in their Stripe Express dashboard. Of course, authors will also be able to monitor tip and Shop activity through their Quilltips dashboard. Quilltips takes a platform fee of 15% on the free plan, or 10% with Quilltips Plus, on tips and paid Shop sales (in addition to Stripe's processing fee).

Stripe is a trusted payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide. All sensitive information is handled directly by Stripe's secure platform, and Quilltips never has access to your banking details.

Definitions

Stripe Connect — This is Stripe's name for the account type and platform used by marketplace participants (which is what authors are classified as in Quilltips).

Stripe Express dashboard — This is the name for Stripe's dedicated account management page for authors using Quilltips with Stripe.
