Julia Casselman

Julia Casselman writes contemporary Christian fiction with speculative elements — stories about the quiet nearness of God, where the spiritual world presses tenderly against everyday life and grace arrives in forms people almost miss. She is the author of the Breath of Eden Series, a contemporary Christian fantasy trilogy rooted in healing, redemption, and the belief that innocence is not weakness and broken people are not beyond redemption. Book One, Songs of Promise, is preparing for publication and was a 2025 semi-finalist in the ACFW Genesis Contest. Book Two, Emissary, is complete and under revision, and was a 2025 ACFW First Impressions finalist. Julia came to writing the long way — through decades of living, loving, losing, and learning what it means to trust a God who is closer than you often realize. Her fiction reflects that journey without flinching from the cost of grace or the reality of pain. She writes in her home office, or in local coffee shops that take their beans seriously, sipping an Americano with quiet music, in the company of her Creator and the characters who won’t leave her alone until their stories are told. When she’s not writing, Julia can be found cruising around town on her bike, hunting for simple Paleo recipes, reading great fiction, and delighting in the particular ways her grandchildren shine. She is active in her church community and believes story is one of God’s oldest and most generous gifts to the people He loves.
