K.L. Ashwood is the pen name of author Krysten Meissner, a writer drawn to stories filled with wonder, warmth, mystery, and a little bit of magic. Under the name K.L. Ashwood, she writes literary fiction and children’s stories that celebrate adventure, friendship, belonging, and the unexpected places that can feel like home. Her upcoming works include Tales at Teatime: The Pillars of Mist, the Mallard Malone Mysteries, and her adult contemporary novel The Tidal Page. Writing under her own name, Krysten Meissner, she creates Christian books designed to encourage faith and help readers discover God in both Scripture and the everyday. Her published works include The Alphabet of God’s Love and Sacred Roots: Herbs & Spices of the Bible. Whether she’s writing about a mysterious Scottish adventure, a duck detective with a case to solve, a bookshop by the sea, or the enduring truths of faith, Krysten hopes her books leave readers with a little more hope, wonder, and joy than they had before. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found crafting, exploring the outdoors with her family, or dreaming up her next story.

Books by K. L. Ashwood

Dear Reader, If you’ve found your way here, I’m so glad you did. I’ve always believed there is something a little magical about books. Somehow, a collection of words on a page can carry us somewhere we’ve never been, introduce us to people who begin to feel like old friends, make us laugh when we need it most, or remind us of something true that we had almost forgotten. That’s the kind of experience I hope to create with my own books. I write fiction and children’s stories as K.L. Ashwood, and Christian books under my own name, Krysten Meissner. On the surface, those books may look quite different from one another. Some might lead you into a cozy bookshop by the sea, send you off on a magical adventure with unlikely companions, or invite you to help solve a mystery. Others may encourage you to open your Bible, notice God’s fingerprints in the world around you, or share His love with a child...or anyone for that matter! But at their heart, I think they all come from the same place. I want to create books that leave something good behind. A little hope. A little wonder. A little courage. A reminder that there is still beauty to be found, adventures worth taking, mysteries worth unraveling, and light even in difficult seasons. More than anything, I hope you feel at home in the stories I create. I hope you find characters you miss after the last page, places you wish you could visit, passages you underline or return to, and perhaps even a little piece of yourself tucked somewhere between the lines. Thank you for choosing to spend some of your time in worlds I’ve had the privilege of creating. There are so many stories waiting to be told, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have readers willing to come along for the journey. So pour yourself something warm, find a cozy spot, and stay awhile. There are plenty more stories to come. With love and happy reading,

K. L. Ashwood
