Dana a 72 y/o Mainer codger, has lived a charmed life as a small-town farm boy to a college graduate. Now retired from a mid life career in medicine, he writes to uncover the mysteries, marvels, and musings of everyday life. He has scribed over 125 short stories that include cozy and thriller-crime mysteries, historical creative fiction, memoirs, and downeast Maine fables establishing him as an utterly delightful-gifted storyteller. Dana’s short story “This World Will Remember Me” received the distinction of a Silver Medal by the 2026 Next Generation Short Story Award (Over Age 70 Category). This World Will Remember Me is in his June 12, 2026, eBook and paperback editions - Maine A Short Story Collection: Mysteries of Rural & Seacoast Life. Each edition holds Dana’s favorite five-star cozy mysteries, notorious crime-thrillers along with two bonus memoirs. Several of his western stories were features in Frontier Tales Magazine. Memoir short musings of brotherhood and adolescence adventure appeared in the anthology, Tell Your Story, Write Your Story, Share Your Story (University Maine Press). Dana’s crime story, The Edges of Lying was one of four stories featured in the Genesis Edition of Luminaura Magazine. Most of his days consist of casting words onto a blank page or a fly line on his favorite lake. His wife of thirty-five years, Eileen, and his 2-year-old toy poodle, Gracie, are devoted fans of his work.
