Every child in the Kingdom of Wyverly knows the bedtime story. A demon king who stole a piece of heaven and made himself invincible. A star sage who defeated him with a secret technique. A wish on a shooting star that sealed the monsters away forever.
Rivo was small when he found the hole in the story. The nursery rhyme says a shooting star's wish lasts ten thousand years. Not forever. His parents laughed it off, told him it was just a fairytale, and closed the book before putting him to bed.
But the bedtime story turned out to be more than just a tale for kids, and the ten thousand years are up.
Fast forward ten years. Wolf-like monsters called the Haundo have descended upon the land, driving the Kingdom to the brink of collapse. Rivo is seventeen, his parents have passed on, and he's just been drafted into the military to confront this deadly new threat.
Alongside his overprotective cousins, they venture out to form a party of their own: a gentle giant with a dopey grin, a circus performer with no patience for reckless heroes, and her timid younger sister, who has secretly had her heart set on Rivo since the day they met. Together, they make a desperate attempt to save Wyverly.
But Rivo's heroic ambitions are tragically cut short when he meets his untimely end.
He now finds himself revived as a spirit, sent back to witness his own rise and fall again over the eventful final weeks of his life: every enemy fought, every friendship formed, and the unspoken love that he never realized was there.
