How to collect reader signups and manage contacts

Grow a list from your book and profile pages

Newsletter signups are available on any plan. ARC and beta reader forms require Quilltips Plus. You build ARC and Beta forms per book, choose whether each one appears on that book page, and optionally list them on your public profile.

Types of signup forms

  • Newsletter — Available on Free and Plus. Turn it on in book settings and/or Author profile, and add an optional description.
  • ARC reader signup (Plus) — One form per book for advance review copies. Readers always give name and email; extra questions are optional.
  • Beta reader signup (Plus) — Same idea for beta readers, as its own form on each book.
  • Book club — Optional on your author profile only, not on individual book pages.
  • Launch notifications — On a pre-sale book page, readers can ask to be emailed when the book releases.

Create an ARC or Beta form

Open Signups (ARC & Beta). Choose New form, pick ARC or Beta and a book, then add the form. A form with no extra questions still collects name and email. Use Customize if you want your own questions, or apply the optional template.

Creating a form does not put it on the live book page by itself. Check Add to book page? next to Save on the form, or use the matching checkbox in that book's settings under Reader Signup Forms (plus Configure to jump back here). Either place updates the other — the last click wins.

In book settings, turning the checkbox on also creates an empty form if you do not have one yet, so name/email signup can go live immediately.

Author profile

In Author profile, newsletter (and book club, if you use it) are configured on the profile itself. The ARC and Beta checkboxes there do not replace the Signups tab — they list the book forms you already created so readers can find them on your public profile.

If you still have an older ARC or Beta form that is not tied to a book, Signups will ask you to attach it to a title so it keeps working.

Viewing lists and answers

On Signups (ARC & Beta) you will find newsletter signups, launch notifications, ARC signups, and beta reader signups, each with a CSV download. Click a reader's name or the row to open the full record, including custom question answers. Use the ARC sent / review received checkboxes in the table without opening the modal.

The Data tab is the combined activity view — tips, Shop, newsletter, ARC, beta, and book club in one place — if you want a single export across everything, not the day-to-day ARC/Beta inbox.
