When I first started writing, I was terrified to share my stories with the world. Writing was the one thing that truly belonged to me, and I feared being judged for it. That changed when my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and one of her final wishes was to see my name in print. My first novel, Summer Love Autumn Goodbye, explored the lasting impact of suicide on those left behind. From there came the Self Inflicted Saga, which tackled self-harm, trauma, and abusive relationships. Most of my books focus on difficult social issues teens and young adults face but often feel alone in dealing with. As both a writer and a parent, many of my stories are inspired by real-life experiences—either my own or those of people close to me. I want readers to know they are not alone. I’m currently working on Heir of the Forgotten, my first adult romantasy series. While it’s a shift from my YA novels, it still explores emotional struggles, identity, and resilience through deeply character-driven storytelling.

Thank you for taking a chance on my stories, my characters, and the pieces of myself I leave behind in every book. Every message, review, and conversation reminds me why I started writing in the first place. When I first began writing, I never imagined anyone else would read my words. Writing was personal for me—a place to put the emotions and experiences that were too difficult to say out loud. Sharing those stories with the world was terrifying, but I’ve learned that the stories that are hardest to tell are often the ones people need most. Many of my books focus on difficult topics like suicide, self-harm, abuse, mental health, and identity struggles because these are real issues people face every day. Too often, especially for teens and young adults, those struggles are suffered in silence. If my stories can help even one person feel seen, understood, or less alone, then every vulnerable word has been worth it. To those of you following me into the world of Heir of the Forgotten, thank you for growing alongside me as a writer. While fantasy is a new direction for me, the heart of my storytelling remains the same—emotionally driven characters trying to find strength, healing, and themselves in the middle of chaos. Your support means more than you probably realize. Indie authors pour so much of themselves into their work, and every review, recommendation, and encouraging message helps keep us going. Most importantly, I hope my books remind you that your story matters too. No matter what you’re facing, you are not alone. With love, Morgan Rylie
