About So I Don't Forget: Poems of Grief and Rediscovery
In 2022, Mia Rose lost her husband Ryan to a long journey with brain cancer. At only 31 years old, she looked around her and realized: 'I have to start over'. But what does that look like?
This book is a collection of poetry, divided into two sections: the grief, and the reinvention. It is meant to help others who have experienced loss process this profound change, or to offer insight to those wishing to support people who are in a grieving period.
Most of all, it is so we don't forget.

Mia Rose Nardi-Huffman
Mia Rose Nardi-Huffman is a writer, classical violinist, cat mama, and crazy plant lady. Mia was widowed at 31 years old when she lost her husband Ryan to a 3-year battle with brain cancer. The experience has reshaped her life in many ways, including a cross-country move, reclaiming her ability to write poetry, and making her, much to her chagrin, more of a ‘people person’. Mia lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her cat Stella Bean, where she performs and teaches as a violinist, writes poetry, and takes a lot of long walks while listening to death metal. ‘So I Don’t Forget’ is her first book.
