About Lighthouse for the Damned

She became a ghost to save him. He became a monster to find her. Some love stories end in heartbreak. Theirs began with a disappearance. Seven years ago, Seraphina Woods vanished without a goodbye, leaving behind her name, her past, and the boy who once promised her forever. Now she's Dorothy Hicks. A quiet life. A borrowed identity. A carefully constructed illusion of safety in a town where nobody knows the girl she used to be. She's managed to keep her ghosts buried. Until someone leaves a black dahlia on her doorstep. An envelope bearing a name she hasn't answered to in years. And a message that makes one thing terrifyingly clear. Someone remembers. Cassian Sterling has spent seven years haunted by the girl who disappeared from his life. Time hasn't softened his obsession. It has sharpened it into something darker. Something dangerous. Because some men learn to live without losing the women they love. Cassian learned how to become the kind of man who would never lose her again. As unsettling gifts appear and a mysterious figure begins watching her from the shadows, Sera finds herself caught between the past she's desperate to escape and a future she no longer knows how to trust. But the most dangerous secrets aren't always the ones we keep from others. Sometimes, they're the ones buried beneath the promises we made when we were too young to understand what forever could cost. He promised he'd always find her. She never imagined what he might become along the way. The Lighthouse for the Damned is a dark second-chance romance woven with obsession, psychological suspense, buried secrets, morally gray love, and the devastating question of whether two broken people can find their way home to each other. Coming Soon | A Debut Novel by Rebecca Jane

To the beautifully damned,

I've always been fascinated by the darker parts of love. Not the picture-perfect kind found in fairy tales, but the complicated, messy, sometimes terrifying kind that makes us question everything we believe about devotion.

Where does love end and obsession begin? When does protection become possession? Can two people who have been broken by the world find their way back to each other without destroying themselves in the process?

Those questions became the foundation of The Lighthouse for the Damned.

I wanted to tell the story of a woman who spent so long surviving that she forgot how to live. A woman forced to abandon everything she knew, including herself, to protect someone she loved.

And a man who never stopped searching for her. A man whose devotion survived the years, but whose innocence didn't.

Sera and Cass aren't perfect. They'll make decisions that frustrate you, break your heart, and perhaps make you question your own moral compass.

But beneath the obsession, secrets, and darkness, their story is about something profoundly human: the desperate desire to be seen, understood, and loved, even when we believe we're beyond saving.

I didn't write this story to convince you that love excuses terrible things. I wrote it to explore whether love can survive them.

Because there's a difference being loved and being owned. Between someone refusing to let you go and someone giving you a reason to stay.

My hope is that you don't simply read this story. I hope you feel it. Every moment of fear, rage, longing, heartbreak, and hope.

And when you turn the final page, I hope a little piece of Sera and Cass stays with you.

After all, some love stories aren't meant to be pretty.

Some are meant to leave scars.

With love and a little darkness,

Rebecca Jane

Hi! I'm Rebecca Jane, a dark romance author, avid reader, mother of four, and firm believer that fictional red flags are much more entertaining than real ones. My love for writing began when I was young, scribbling poetry as a way to process intense emotions we all remember as teens. Somewhere along the way, life happened, and my dream of becoming an author took a backseat. That is, until two fictional characters invaded my mind, demanded their story be told, and refused to leave me alone. Now I'm writing my debut novel, The Lighthouse for the Damned, and embracing my love for morally gray men, strong but beautifully flawed women, twisted love stories, and the kind of emotional roller coasters that leave readers staring at the wall after the final page. When I'm not reading or putting my characters through emotional hell, I'm raising four amazing teenagers, studying to become a mental health counselor and certified sex therapist, and navigating the beautiful chaos of everyday life. I don't believe every love story needs to be pretty, and I certainly don't believe every character needs to be good. I want to write stories that you feel the love, the rage, the heartbreak, the hope, and all the messy emotions in between. If you love dark romance, complicated characters, questionable fictional men, a little more emotional damage, I think we'll get along just fine. Welcome to my little corner of darkness.
