Sixteen-year-old Indigo Hayes is a Variant, a person whose powers manifest from a life-threatening trauma. Her school is her home, raised by history teacher Elias Clemons to be brave, outspoken, and kind. When she and her friends hear about the potential return of a villain from their past, they plan to confront him and make sure he isn’t making a comeback. That plan gets turned upside down with the arrival of Margot, a runaway teen with a mark resembling a terrorist organization and a target on her back from a hitman who will stop at nothing to get her back. Now tasked with protecting Margot, Indigo has to face her past and the feelings she has for the mystery girl.
This has been my baby for six years. From being a small, unfinished X-Men fanfiction to now being two drafts in as of writing this, it’s a dream come true in every way. I cannot wait for the day I share it with the world, and most importantly, you.
